With BBC Introducing support and a string of sold out shows under her belt, Runrummer is an artist on the rise and certainly one to look out for. Originally from Bromsgrove near Birmingham, she takes her moniker from the famous Rum Runner Nightclub that helped launch local Brummie bands Duran Duran and Dexys Midnight Runners in the 70s and 80s.
Now based in East London, Runrummer is the brain child of Livi Morris; a 25-year-old singer, songwriter and producer creating "effortlessly laid-back melody and lyrics tinged with a swagger found on Lily Allen records" (Gigslutz).
Like many of the new crop of young British pop, Runrummer pulls influences from 80s electro bands alongside contemporary sounds from artists like Christine & The Queens, Billie Eilish and Solange, while her lyrics cover subjects from sexuality and gender identity to mental health. She released her debut EP independently in November 2018 to much critical acclaim.
